Mirrith Al'thr spent the most of her life as a slave to high elven ladies and lords in Threshlin. The few records on the slaves that were kept in Threshlin were destroyed when Mirrith Al'thr rose to power. This lack of information leaves the past of Mirrith Al'thr and the other slaves sketchy at best. It was not until after she took the Sword of Darkness Soulrender from it's previous host that her name became known. Unlike the previous nine hosts of Soulrender, something seemed to prevent the sword from asserting it's full and complete control over Mirrith. She seems to retain her individuality despite the blades repeated attempts to dominate her, something that was previously thought impossible. This rarity makes her far more dangerous than just another vessel of Soulrender because it makes her less predictable. She built the Aphotic Empire from and ashes of the elven slave colony of Threshlin, after leading a massacre against all of it's inhabitants. After the fall of Threshlin, she killed any other dark elf seeming to oppose her rule and named herself the Queen of Corruption. In addition to naming herself Queen she claimed to be a decendant of the House of Al'thr. The house of Al'thr is believed to be the oldest of all Dark Elven houses, stemming from Mors creation of their race. Al'thr itself even means first essence, or first born. Those who hope the House of Al'thr has finally risen again have quickly rushed to the aid of the self-named Queen of Corruption, joining the Aphotic Empire. The word Aphotic is old English for "The Absense of Light", thus the Aphotic Empire is the Empire of the Absense of Light.
