The Creation of the Adumbral Knights
Celest infused her own essence and begin to wield the powers of her creator to bring about it's safety, with Soulrender conquering world after world slowly pushing it's way to the Adumbral's center and Angelic Wrath following a different path but going just as quickly, time was running out. Infused with the power of the Adumbral and given the sword Adumbral Bane, Gabriel Eristin was the first to receive it and in the future, whenever the Adumbral itself sensed danger it would inject the essence of an Adumbral Knight into a mortal, to protect it, and balance the equation under the goddess of Balance. Gabriel remained hidden from both swords, slowly pushing his way through the Adumbral, managing to survive against nearly unimaginable odds. Using several powers granted to him by the Adumbral itself, he managed to slay both hosts of Soulrender and AngelicWrath, sending their respective empires crashing around them. Both swords were left where their owners fell, forgotten, and lost.A Time of chaos reigned upon which, Gabriel spent the rest of his life, sealing worlds off from the Adumbral. The result was the failing of magic, and forgetting the Adumbral's existence. When he eventually died, the Adumbral and the swords was but an old story grandparents would tell their children. Overtime, it became a fairytale. The age of Chaos lasted for hundreds of years, as magic drained in power, and eventually, even magic was forgotten, left to occult stories and beliefs. Then nearly a thousand years later, from the Chaotic Feudalism, a new Empire begin to shape, The Arbitratorian Empire.
The Rebirth of Magic and the Arbitratorian Empire
A King rose from the ashes of the old Aphotic Empire, named King Drakken, he slowly united many previously soverign countries and began to study the old stories of the Adumbral. Eventually he was able to figure out how to harm the Adumbral, his goal was to combine Science and Sorcery and trick the Adumbral into making an army of Adumbral Knights for him. It was unknown how but the facility was destroyed, rumors lead to a spy. Two were born, both male, one however was believed to have died when the compound was destroyed. Time passed and the remaining child Calin became Drakken's Heir. Political unrest begin to effect the world as Arbitratoria neared the point where the other sovereign countries could no longer resist their might, even united.Eventually Drakken discovered ancient texts about the Adumbral, and began to search for it, believing if he reached the center he would be granted Immortality, and be powerful enough to unite the world at long last. While his intentions were good, he went to any means to achieve success. He begin to gather the keys, in the form of crystals that would open the gateway into the Adumbral. In order to evade political issues, he hired a mercenary guild, The Final Arbitrators of Justice. They were successful in stealing the first key from Armin, a man named Sarcanus delivered it himself. In order to remove the possibility of who hired them from coming out, Drakken ordered the entire Mercenary guild killed apon reaching the land which was their reward for a job well done.
The Final Arbitrators of Justice arrived at the large tower south of Armin that they now owned. Sarcanus felt a pull to the upstairs, and eventually found a secret compartment leading to a large cavern of floaterstone in the topmost part of the tower. Using Belts of lead, he eventually found the journal of Gabriel, the first Adumbral Knight. In addition the Sword, Adumbral Bane, and a cloak bearing a dark red circle, with three swords crossing it's center, all behind an hourglass. The cloak itself was lighter than air. Questions rose and the Final Arbitrators of Justice captain demanded Sarcanus return to Armin to figure them out, then several of the mercenaries carried the floaterstone and emptied the tower bringing it all back to their old base of operations for safe keeping.
